GOLF COURSES
Golf courses benefit from the application of
Bio-Flex® in many ways:
Turfgrass specialists at Iowa State University and golf course
superintendents who have used Bio-Flex® as a top dressing for their
greens assisted in development of the following application rates and
application methods which allow for the use of Bio-Flex without altering
established top dressing procedures.
For best results, it is suggested that Bio-Flex be broadcast on the
green at the rate of 50# per 1,000 square feet following aerification.
Established or normal top dressing can then be spread over the Bio-Flex
and all top dressing materials drug in at the same time. Resume normal
regular irrigation practices as soon as possible after top dressing.
Soil Samples taken from those greens where Bio-Flex has been applied
show dramatic improvement both in root length and root bio-mass.
Bio-Flex applied in this manner contributes very little, if any, to soil
layering.
Divot Mix
The addition of Bio-Flex to any divot mix speeds germination and
adds to a more rapid development of new seed. Adding Bio-Flex at a rate
of one part Bio-Flex to five parts of your favorite divot mix is
recommended. This results in a mixture that is 15% to 20% Bio-Flex which
will provide optimal performance.
Tests conducted on tee boxes have consistently shown that those areas
using Bio-Flex are returned to services several days in advance of those
areas without Bio-Flex.
